Hanau, Germany. First officially unveiled and approved by the DIBt (German Institute for Construction Technology) in early 2021, CALOSTAT® Pad immediately became an Evonik success. Like the other products in the CALOSTAT® Group, CALOSTAT® Pad offers an impressive combination of exceptionally good insulation properties, non-combustibility, and recyclability.
CALOSTAT® Pad is an insulating material with a CALOSTAT® Pure core that has been compressed and sewn into a fiberglass mesh, which protects the core for easier shipping, handling, and mounting. CALOSTAT® Pad is particularly well-suited as an insulating material for facade elements, ventilated curtain walls, flat roofs and balconies, in building elements, for basement ceilings and underground parking structures, and for the optimization of technical building equipment.
Frank Gmach, marketing manager for Thermal Insulation at Creavis, Evonik’s strategic innovation unit, explains the unique benefits of CALOSTAT® Pad: “CALOSTAT® Pad enables slim, safe, sustainable insulation. The new fiberglass mesh makes installing high-performance insulating boards even easier. In 2021, for example, we were able to insulate a number of major projects, especially in London.” The use of CALOSTAT® reduces the amount of room required for insulation. As Gmach notes, “That means additional space that can be sold or rented for residential or commercial purposes. CALOSTAT® also lets you insulate areas where it wouldn’t be possible at all without this high-performance insulation, or where you would have to make a lot of fairly dubious compromises.”
