About CALOSTAT®

Superinsulation with optimum values

CALOSTAT® is a innovative high-performance material. A slim, safe, and durable CALOSTAT® insulating board has been developed for various high-end insulation applications. In the construction industry it now closes a gap by offering a non-combustible high-performance insulation material, combining two previously incompatible properties within a single board.

CALOSTAT® is a non-combustible high-performance thermal insulation material based on silicon dioxide. Purely mineral silicon dioxide is an indicator of excellent insulating properties combined with good structural characteristics: CALOSTAT® is a class A (non-combustible) building material. It has a remarkably low thermal conductivity λ of 0.019 W/(mK); the design value (λD) is 0.020 W/(mK). CALOSTAT® does not absorb liquid water but is permeable to water vapor. Other distinguishing features are its high compressive strength of ≥ 90 kPa and gross density of 165 kg/m³. It contains no fungicides, algicides, pesticides, binding agents, or flame retardants. It does not react with other materials. It contains no ingredients that promote fogging and, in contrast to most commercially available fossil insulating materials, it can be recycled.
